Frequently Asked Questions
All scanners
Can I use a handheld reader to scan QR codes and send them to my FareHarbor Dashboard on my computer?
No, handheld scanners can only be used with the FareHarbor mobile app.
Are there different beep tones for successful or failed scans?
No, the beep indicates that the code was scanned. Any further information on the code is displayed on the application screen. Make sure that the sound on your iOS device is turned on so you will be alerted when there is an error.
Can I have more than one handheld device connected to my FareHarbor app?
No, you can pair only one device at a time.
Can I scan using the external device and the camera at the same time?
Yes, when the handheld device is connected to your iOS phone or tablet, you can scan using either method.
Can the scanner store the QR codes and synchronize them once paired with the app?
No. Make sure that you have scanned the code that configures the scanner to instantly upload the codes to the FareHarbor app, as described in the pairing instructions above.
If you have your scanner configured to store the codes in the internal memory, these codes will not successfully synchronize with the FareHarbor app.
Why can’t I see the keyboard when trying to search a booking or type something within the FareHarbor iOS app?
Note: This only applies if you are using an iOS device.
If you want to show the keyboard you can either press twice on the main button (for Nadamoo devices) or scan the corresponding codes for a Koolertron device. For the ScanAvenger scanner, you have a choice and can either press twice on the main button or scan the corresponding codes.
When the external devices are disconnected from your iOS device, the on-screen keyboard will automatically be displayed.
