After you've created a resource requirement group, assign it to your availabilities so FareHarbor can begin creating resource uses for new bookings. You can update one or many availabilities at the same time using the Availability Updater.
If your availabilities already have bookings, you may also need to reapply resources so existing bookings use the updated resource requirements.
Resource requirement groups & availabilities
Resource requirement groups don't affect bookings until they're assigned to one or more availabilities.
The Availability Updater lets you update multiple availabilities at once by selecting:
- The type of change you want to make.
- Which availabilities should be updated.
- The new values to apply.
Use the Availability Updater to assign a resource requirement group to the selected availabilities. The group determines which resource requirements apply to new bookings for those availabilities.
If the selected availabilities already have bookings, reapply resources after the update so those bookings use the current resource requirements.
Assign a resource requirement group
You can access the Availability Updater from either the company Bookings calendar or an individual item's Availability Calendar. Use the Availability Updater to assign a resource requirement group to one or more availabilities.
To assign a resource requirement group:
- Navigate to Items and select the activity you want to update.
- Open the Calendar.
- Select Update availabilities.
- In the Change column, select Resource requirements.
- In For these availabilities, select the date range and any filters you want to use.
- If you're updating availabilities from the company Bookings calendar, select the appropriate items.
- In the To column, select the resource requirement group you want to assign.
- Select Preview changes.
- Review the number of availabilities that will be updated. If everything looks correct, select Complete update.
- Wait for the update to finish before leaving or refreshing the page.
After the update completes, the selected availabilities will use the new resource requirement group for future resource assignments.
Reapply resources to existing bookings
Changing a resource requirement group doesn't automatically update resource assignments for existing bookings.
After assigning a new resource requirement group, FareHarbor displays a Next, reapply resources reminder.
To reapply resources:
- Select Reapply resources from the completion prompt.
- Configure the date range for the bookings you want to update.
- Select Preview changes.
- Review the number of bookings that will be affected.
- Select Complete update.
Reapplying resources updates existing bookings so their resource assignments reflect the current resource requirement configuration.
If no existing bookings match your selected criteria, FareHarbor displays a message indicating that the update won't affect any bookings.
FAQs & common issues
Do I need to reapply resources after changing a resource requirement group?
If your availabilities already contain bookings, you should reapply resources so existing bookings use the updated resource requirements. New bookings automatically use the newly assigned resource requirement group.
Why should I preview changes first?
The preview shows how many availabilities or bookings will be affected before any changes are made, allowing you to confirm that you've selected the correct date ranges and filters.
Why doesn't the update affect any availabilities?
This message usually means that none of the selected availabilities match the filters you've applied. Review your selected date ranges, items, and filters, then preview the update again.
Can I assign resource requirement groups to multiple availabilities at once?
Yes. The Availability Updater is designed to update multiple availabilities in a single operation using date ranges and optional filters.
