  • Updated

The Overview page under Reports shows key reporting metrics so you can check performance, where bookings come from, and who is booking - without building or configuring a report.

To access the Overview page:

  1. Go to Reports on your FareHarbor Dashboard.
  2. Select Overview.

Note: If you cannot see the Reports tab, you likely need reporting permissions. Contact your Dashboard administrator. Learn more about permission groups.

Exploring top-level metrics

By default you land on the Performance tab for a quick view of how your  business is doing. You can also open the Distribution tab to see where your bookings are coming from, and the Customers tab to see for who is booking.

The date range of the report can be adjusted via the dropdown at the top of the page. The date range options include Last 7 days (default), Today, Yesterday, Last month, This month, and This year.

Notes: Most of the metrics follow the selected date range. Exceptions that show all-time data are:

  • The year-over-year (YoY) graph on the Performance tab
  • The Avg. Lifetime Value on the Customers tab.

Performance tab

Use the Performance tab for a quick overview of how your business is performing (bookings, customers hosted, revenue collected, and top items) without building or configuring a report.

Performance tab metrics

  • Bookings Received: Your total bookings created regardless of availability date, payment status, or cancellation status.
  • Pax Hosted: The total number of booked customer types for all uncanceled bookings based on availability date.
  • Gross Transaction Collected: Your total revenue (gross transaction based on gross payment minus gross refund).

Note: Each of the above three metrics also shows a year-over-year trend (X% vs same time last year) for the same date or date range last year.

  • Next Payout: The amount and scheduled date of your next payout. (Note: Click on the metric to directly access your Payouts report.)
  • Year over year (YoY) graph: Compare this year’s monthly performance against last year’s and see your overall progress toward last year's full-year total (X% of last year's total). The YoY data is updated every 24 hours and includes results up to yesterday.

Note: Year over year is intended to serve as a general indicator of performance and is not a comprehensive financial report.

  • Top Items (by Availability date): An overview of your top five items from uncanceled bookings ranked by gross transaction — your five best-selling items.
  • Payment Type Breakdown: A breakdown of your revenue amounts based on payment type (credit card, cash, payment link, etc.) sorted by payment created date.
  • Booking Source Breakdown: A breakdown of your bookings based on their source (online, direct, affiliate, etc.).
  • Transaction vs Refund Breakdown: A breakdown of your gross payments and gross refunds grouped by the payment creation date. The number on each bar is your gross transaction (payment minus refund) for each day or month in the selected range.

Distribution tab

Use the Distribution tab for a quick overview of where your bookings and revenue are coming from (online, direct, affiliate channels, and other booking sources) without building or configuring a report.

Distribution tab metrics

  • Top Booking Source: The booking source with the most bookings out of the total number of bookings.
  • Bookings Received from Affiliates: The number of bookings received from affiliates.
  • Gross Transaction from Affiliates: The total gross transaction from affiliate bookings with a trend compared to the same period last year.
  • Top Affiliate: The affiliate with the highest booking total. You can also see the affiliate’s number of bookings and booking total amount.
  • Booking Source Distribution: This stacked column chart shows the booking totals broken down by booking source.
  • Top Affiliates: A list of your top affiliates ranked by booking total showing affiliate name, booking source, affiliate type, booking count, and booking total.

Customers tab

Use the Customers tab for a ready-made view of who is booking - new vs returning customers, average spend per customer, how far ahead people book, top countries, and top spenders - without building a report or browsing the customer directory.

The Customers tab requires permission to view Contacts. If you cannot see the Customers tab, contact your Dashboard administrator. Learn more about permission groups.

Note: Canceled, deleted, pending, and rebooked bookings are excluded from the report.

Customers tab metrics

  • New Customers: The number and % of customers who booked in the selected period that are not marked as Returning, based on booking created date.
  • Returning Customers: The number and % of customers who booked in this period and are marked as Returning (they’ve completed at least two separate purchases), based on booking created date.
  • Avg. Lifetime Value: Average amount spent per customer over their whole history with your company.
  • Avg. Booking Window: The average number of days before an activity customers book, based on booking created and availability date. Includes only bookings whose activity start time falls in the selected range.

Note: New Customers and Returning Customers only count people who booked in the selected period. A returning customer who did not book in the date range is not counted. Therefore, the totals may not match the customer directory’s full list of returning customers.

Customers tab lists

  • Top Booking Countries: The top five countries ranked by booking total (subtotal + tax) in the selected period, based on booking created date. You also see the booking count and booking total per country for that period.
  • Notes:
    • Booking countries are based on the country code of the phone number entered during booking.
    • Missing or invalid country codes are grouped as Unknown.
  • Top Spending Customers: The top five customer profiles who spent the most in the selected period, based on booking created date. The columns show customer name, country (based on phone number), number of bookings, and the associated booking total amount.
