GetYourGuide (GYG) is an online marketplace that simplifies how users discover and book experiences worldwide. Partnering with GYG can help connect your brand to local service suppliers globally.

FareHarbor has partnered with GetYourGuide to help operators take advantage of this solid booking channel, with FareHarbor’s added benefits:

  • 20 first bookings are free of GYG commission
  • A preferential 22% commission – GYG’s lowest available
  • A streamlined sign-up process

Overview

The benefits of promoting your products on GYG include:

  • Targeting travelers who want to experience a local perspective
  • Boost revenue and increasing bookings as a result of greater exposure

  • Filling excess activity capacity with additional online travelers

What is automatically shared An integration with GetYourGuide shares availabilities, bookings, and cancellations via the API. Updates happen once a day for the first 90 days after connection. After this, products are updated once a week for the next year.

What is not automatically shared The content of your tours must be updated manually in your GetYourGuide portal.

On eligible products, GetYourGuide can pull pricing from FareHarbor.

Eligibility

Companies who did not previously register on GYG are eligible for the GetYourGuide Quick Registration Program.

Applying for GYG Quick Registration

Feeling like giving it a go? Register directly via your FareHarbor Dashboard:

  1. Navigate to the Settings tab.
  2. Locate the Integrations option in the sidebar, and click to view.
  3. Navigate to the OTA Connections tab.
  4. Locate the GetYourGuide widget, and click the Connect now button to begin the registration process.
  5. Fill out the application form.

    The following information is required to submit a GYG application:

    • First and last name
    • Email address
    • Legal company name
    • Legal status
    • Website URL
    • Country and/or regional information
  6. Click the Register with GetYourGuide button to submit the registration request.

Once the application form has been successfully submitted, a notification will display in the Dashboard. You will also receive an email confirming the form submission.

Note: If the application cannot be submitted due to the form responses and/or the Dashboard setup, an error message will display. The most common submission errors are:

  • An invalid currency code is present in the form
  • The attempted application is a duplicate registration request for your Dashboard

Registration approval

GYG will review the application, then notify both the submitter and FareHarbor under the following circumstances:

  • The application is approved.
  • The application contains an error or is missing information that is needed before the review process and proceed. (If the review process is stalled, please work with GYG and/or FareHarbor Support as needed to move the review forward.)

Once GYG has reviewed the application and approved the registration request, a confirmation email will be sent to the email address listed in the application. Click the Complete your account button to continue setting up your GYG account.

GYG will also relay the approved status to FareHarbor directly.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the application approval process take?

Although GYG can receive the form within minutes of submission, the duration of the approval process is dependent upon GYG. Please reach out to FareHarbor Support if you have questions about the status of your application.

I received an error message when submitting my application. What should I do?

  • Please reach out to FareHarbor Support if you receive the following error:

    An unexpected internal system failure occurred. Please try again later or contact support for assistance.

  • Please adjust your application’s currency information to ISO 4217 format (i.e “USD”) and reattempt submission if you receive the following error:

    Invalid currency code [entered currency code], please provide a valid currency in ISO 4217 format.

  • If you receive the error below, no further action is required. A registration application has already been submitted for your Dashboard.

    Duplicated and open supplier registration request for the same external supplier id [unique Dashboard ID]

What are my next steps once GYG approves the application?

Once the application is approved, GYG will send a confirmation email to the email address listed in the application. Click the Complete your account button to continue setting up your GYG account. (Note: Check your spam folder to ensure the confirmation email was not misdirected.)

Once the GYG account has been set up and finalized, request assistance with mapping desired Dashboard items to GYG.

I want to learn more about the 20 commission-free bookings

FareHarbor clients who register with GYG via the FareHarbor Dashboard will receive 20 commission-free bookings.

After the first 20 commission-free bookings have been made, the FareHarbor client receives a special offer of 22% commission paid to GYG for any subsequent bookings placed by GYG customers. Learn more about GYG commission fees.

I am already connected to GetYourGuide, do I get the 20 commission-free bookings offer as well?

The 20 commission-free booking offer applies to only a specific cohort of clients in the US, that are not currently live on GetYourGuide, and are also signed up to our FareHarbor Distribution Network.
