Why don't my Google Analytics and FareHarbor reports match?

  • Updated

Google Analytics should not be used to compare sales data between your FareHarbor Dashboard and the monetization reports of Google Analytics, as the two platforms will never match. Your Google Analytics will never have 100% accurate data for a variety of reasons:

  • Privacy regulations
  • Browsers blocking tracking
  • Adblockers
  • Booking cancellations and rebookings
  • People who disable Javascript, etc.

Keep in mind Google Analytics should be used as a tool to look at trends and patterns on how your users behave on your website including their user journey.

How to view my online sales in my FareHarbor Dashboard

Unlike Google Analytics, your FareHarbor reports are 100% accurate. In order to look at your items booked online, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the Reports section of your FareHarbor Dashboard.
  2. Select Booking on the left navigation pane.
  3. Click Booking by Item.
  4. Click Advanced, add your date range.
  5. Below Report on, select Booking Created date from the drop down menu.
  6. Under Filter bookings, click + Add Filter.
  7. Filter by Source and select Online.
  8. Click Save.
  9. Adjust the columns you want to have in your report
  10. Click Generate. (Note: This report does not include canceled bookings.)

Once an online booking enters your FareHarbor Dashboard and that data is passed into Google Analytics, that number is fixed. If there is an adjustment made to the booking (for example, the booking was canceled, refunded, or an additional customer was added), the new value is not passed back to Google Analytics.

To view your canceled and existing bookings together, follow these steps:

  1. On the same report you have created above, below Filter Bookings, click on the pencil next to Canceled Status.
  2. Click on Remove, then click OK.
  3. Under Columns > Booking columns, select # Canceled.
  4. Click Generate.
