Google Analytics 4 (GA4) is a web analytics service that tracks and reports website and app traffic. It uses an event-based data model to measure user interactions across different platforms, providing insights into customer behavior.

To track website traffic with GA4, you must have a GA4 property. This help page will guide you through creating a GA4 property.

Creating a GA4 property

To create a GA4 property, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your Google Analytics account. If you do not yet have an account, you can create one on the Google Analytics website. After creating your account, you will be prompted to create a GA4 property automatically.
  2. If you have an existing Google Account for another property, click the Admin icon in the lower-left corner of the GA dashboard.
  3. Click on the + Create Property button from the center column.
  4. Fill out the Property details fields (Property name, time zone, currency) and click Next.
  5. Fill out the Business details fields (category: Travel. Business size) and click Next.
  6. Choose your business objectives. We recommend selecting Get Baseline reports. This will provide you with all the necessary reports to assess website performance.
  7. Click Create.
  8. In the Data collection section, choose Web for the platform.
  9. Set up a data stream. Add your website URL and your stream name (usually the name of your website), then click Create stream.
  10. You will be prompted to install the Google Tag. Click on View tag instructions for guidance on installing the Google Tag on your website.
  11. Once you have created your new GA4 property, visit the Setting up Google Analytics 4 (GA4) help page to learn more about connecting and configuring your property with FareHarbor.

Note: To find your GA4 measurement ID, navigate to Admin Data streams Web.
