Kiosk mode (legacy feature)

  • Updated

FareHarbor Dock is now available. Transform any iPad or Android tablet into a dedicated booking point of sale (POS) to streamline in-person sales, elevate customer experience, and scale operations with this powerful solution.

Kiosk mode can be used if you want your customers to be able to make walk-up bookings on a physical device, usually in a public place like a lobby or information center. In most cases, a device like an iPad is used for this purpose, with an app like Kiosk Pro or GoKiosk installed to keep the device locked onto one website.

NOTE: Card readers are not compatible with kiosk mode. They are integrated only for direct bookings.

What’s different about kiosk mode?

Although very similar to the standard book form, kiosk mode has a few key differences, due to its more public nature. For example, there are no print, share, or booking feedback options on the confirmation page:

Additionally, all information in sensitive fields is obscured as it is entered, providing more security to anonymous users making bookings in a public setting.:

How to use kiosk mode

Enabling kiosk mode is as simple as adding an extra string to an embed URL. You can do this with the embed generator or by simply appending ?ref=kiosk&kiosk=yes to the URL you want the kiosk to use.

In order to complete the kiosk mode setup, first determine which item(s) you want to use in kiosk mode, then, please contact FareHarbor Support for assistance.
