Discount code fields

Use these settings to control how the discount code behaves during booking and redemption workflows. The fields below determine discount eligibility, redemption behavior, and booking restrictions.

Field Description Notes & constraints
Discount code The code customers or Dashboard users enter during redemption.

Codes can contain up to 20 characters. Spaces are not supported. Supported special characters include dash (-), underscore (_), dollar sign ($), number sign (#), and percent sign (%).

Codes must be unique across discount and gift card codes.

Discount type Determines whether the discount uses a percentage or fixed-value amount. Supports percentage-based or fixed monetary discounts.
Discount amount Defines the discount amount applied to eligible items or customer types. Negative values are not supported. Decimal values are supported only for fixed-value discounts.

Negative values are not supported. Decimal values are supported only for fixed-value discounts.

Minimum booking amount Defines the minimum booking subtotal required before the discount can be redeemed. No minimum purchase amount is required by default.
Maximum uses Controls how many times the code can be redeemed. Unlimited redemptions are allowed by default. Any successful redemption counts toward the maximum usage limit, including multiple eligible items redeemed within the same transaction.

For more information about cart-related redemption behavior, see online cart.

Redemption settings

Redemption settings control when and for which availabilities a discount code can be redeemed. These settings can be used together to support date-based promotions and booking restrictions.

Field Description Notes & constraints
Redemption period Controls the date range during which the discount code can be redeemed. Includes a required start date and optional end date. If no end date is configured, the code remains redeemable indefinitely.
Valid activity dates Restricts redemption to availabilities occurring on specific dates or days of the week. Can be configured using date ranges, weekday restrictions, or both.
Blackout activity dates Prevents redemption for availabilities occurring on specific dates or days of the week. Blackout activity dates always override valid activity date settings.

Affiliate settings

Affiliate-related settings appear only when an affiliate has already been added to the Dashboard.

Setting Description Notes & constraints
Tag affiliate Automatically assigns an affiliate to bookings redeemed with the discount code. Can support affiliate-tagging setups used alongside certain combo-related workflows. For more information, see affiliate tagging.
Block this discount when booked by an affiliate or through an affiliate link Prevents customers from redeeming the discount code through affiliate-related booking flows. Applies to affiliate booking links and affiliate-associated booking flows.

Status definitions

Discount codes display a status based on their configured redemption period. These statuses help identify whether a code is currently redeemable, scheduled for future use, or no longer active.

Status Description
Active The discount code’s redemption period is currently open.
Scheduled The discount code’s redemption period is configured to begin on a future date.
Expired The configured redemption period has ended, and the code can no longer be redeemed.
