FareHarbor Agent: Tips & tricks on how to get bookings

  • Updated

This feature is currently only available for selected FareHarbor clients.

FareHarbor Agent is an AI-powered agent that helps you receive bookings and respond to guest questions across multiple communication channels 24/7. It uses information from your FareHarbor account, website and additional knowledge you provide to deliver consistent, real-time responses. Learn more about it in our Introduction to FareHarbor Agent help page.

This help page contains a few tips and tricks to help you generate more bookings using FareHarbor Agent's AI capabilities.

Before you begin, open FareHarbor Agent from your FareHarbor Dashboard.

1.Train your Agent using your website

Your website is a useful starting point for information about your tours, pricing, policies, and frequently asked questions.

In the onboarding tool, ask the FareHarbor Agent to use your website as a knowledge source.

For example:

I want to set up my AI agent. Help me map my business, identify top customer questions, and build comprehensive training based on my website [YOUR_WEBSITE_HERE] — follow the onboarding playbook.

Review the generated training before publishing it. Update any details that are incomplete or inaccurate.

2. Give your FareHarbor Agent a clear identity

Go to FareHarbor Agent > AI Training > Knowledge > Agent Identity, then define:

  • Voice: How the Agent should communicate, such as friendly, professional, or playful.
  • What it does: Tasks it can help with, such as answering guest questions and assisting with bookings.
  • What it should not do: Actions it must avoid, such as accepting cancellations or offering free activities.
  • Guardrails: Topics or advice the Agent should avoid, including competitor-related guidance.

3. Test your Agent

Before connecting with guests, use the preview chat to test questions your guests commonly ask. For example:

  • “What time does the sunset cruise leave on Saturday?”
  • “Do you offer refunds if it rains?”
  • “Can I book for six people next weekend?”

Check that responses are:

  • Accurate
  • Consistent with your brand
  • Helpful for completing a booking

If an answer needs improvement, update the training or Agent identity and test again.

4. Start with a single channel connection

Start with the one most important channel connection before expanding to others. In most cases, this is your website chat.

To connect your website chat:

  1. Open your FareHarbor Agent workspace.
  2. Navigate to Channels > Website Chat.
  3. Copy the widget snippet.
  4. Add the snippet to your website before the closing </body> tag, or send it to the person who manages your website.
  5. Turn on Autopilot for the Website Chat channel.
  6. Send a test message from your live website.

Once enabled, your FareHarbor Agent can respond automatically to website visitors.
